Aten is a 3D pyramid with triangle game pieces, where you race to score points at the top. If you build and keep 4 piece triangle, you get an extra game piece (Mid) on your next turn. However if your opponent destroys your 4 piece triangle (pyramid), you don\t. Hence the strategy.
